Need a few extra things done around the house?

One of our neighbors, Nick, next door to Bernice, is trying to make some extra money for Prom. If you have any handyman type things that need done or know of anyone else nearby that might need some help, please let me or Bernice know. Pressure washing, edging, other things like that - he would be very appreciative of the work and the extra cash!

My phone number is 281.250.4463

Bernice - 281.542.6844

Thanks!

Spring Update

Hello to all! I hope you are enjoying the change of seasons!

A few updates:

I am currently in the Citizens Police Academy at the Police Dept. It has been a ton of fun. I have got to meet so many of our officers and have learned countless things about how our police dept is run. Take it from me, we are VERY lucky to live in Deer Park. We have an outstanding force! I am hoping soon to be able to have Sector Meetings so we can meet with our Sector Officer about things going on in our area. The PD has a new chief as well, Chief Griggs!!! The DP PD is a very community oriented department and strives to develop a better relationship with the citizens.

I am scheduled to meet with our Sector Officer, Ofc. D.M. Bode, soon too about forming a Neighborhood Watch. I will be in contact with each of you regarding whether you would be willing to be a part of it as well. Many of you may know there have been several crimes in our city that we arent used too....home invasions, large marijuana bust, etc. We need to keep a watchful eye on everything.

I am trying to get the time to put a newsletter together for the neighborhood. I would like to meet more of our neighbors and get them involved as well. I am excited about National Night Out this year and have tentative plans for a Halloween party for the little ones.

One of our dogs, Buddy, the large yellow lab, snuck out the door for the billionth time, but this time we were not able to find him. The city did not pick him up, and he never came back. So if you see him, please let us know. It has been awhile so I am not sure we are going to find him

If you or your neighbors need any help with yard work, please let me know. I have several boys I would like to put to work!!

Deer Park Little League has started up as well..it ought to be an exciting season, as well as a busy one! Opening Day is this Saturday, March 28th. If you are interested in supporting the League, stop on by Jimmy Burke for some food and fun!

Bernice's (907) daughter is a Pampered Chef consultant now! I LOVE Pampered Chef. Let me know if you are interested in hosting a party or ordering and I will put you in contact with her!

Thats all I can think of at the moment. As always, please let me know if you need anything at all!!

Checking in..

Hello to all! I hope everyone is doing well. I am sure we are all starting to get ready for the holidays. For me, it is a love-hate relationship. I love the season but hate the hustle and bustle.

If you didnt already know, the Callihan's (818) just welcomed a new baby girl on the 12th. Congratulations to you guys!

Not much else going on as far as I know. I am hoping to start looking into a Neighborhood Watch group eraly next year when everything gets back to normal.

Also, I have attached a link to the contact list I created on the right hand sign, in the event you need to contact someone in the neighborhood.

Send me a message if there is anything anyone would like to announce, ask, gripe about, etc.!!!

Our Site

Howdy neighbors! I hope you are all doing well since the party! I want to thank each and every one of you for coming. I was very excited about the turnout and enjoyed meeting so many people!

I created this blog in hopes that we could all use it as a place to go to keep in touch with one another and to keep up with what is going on in our neighborhood. I am going to post links to websites that may be of interest to us. I also think this would be a great place to post questions to each other regarding things that may have happened on our street, recommendations for good contracters or even lost and found notifications. there really is a lot of things that this site can be used for.

I have also included a section on the blog that contains links to other blogs or websites of your neighbors if they would like to share. You will see that I have a family blog that I use to post pics of the boys and the goings on in our life.

You can post comments, you can send me emails directly if you want to post something or have any questions. Also, if you have any ideas on how to make this better, please let me know! I hope that you all take the time to look around and see what is available.

Keep a look out for changes to the design of the blog, as I strive to always make it the best it can be.

See ya'll around the block!
